How
to Alleviate
Menstrual Cramp Pain
with Herbal Packs
and Australian Oil
of Eucalyptus
(back
to Instructions)
The Science of
Eucalyptus Oil
The reason for
Menstrual Cramps
Prostaglandins are
released from
uterine lining
usually one day
before menses which
cause the uterus to
contract forcefully.
These hormones also
cause
vasodilatation,
expanding the
arteries and veins
so they pool blood
in the pelvic area.
The result is a
feeling of heavy
discomfort and
cramping. Some
cramping is also the
result of heavy flow
squeezing through
the small cervical
opening. Usually
this type of
cramping disappears
after the cervical
opening has widened
as a result of
childbirth.
Some women also
experience a
significant drop in
blood pressure or
contractions in the
muscles of the
intestinal tract.
Before discussing
natural treatments,
I want to mention
that
anti-inflammatory
drugs like ibuprofen
and Naproxen work to
stop the uterus from
producing
prostaglandins and
preventing blood
clotting.
Natural
Treatments for
Menstrual Cramps
Studies have shown
that exercise helps
to reduce or even
alleviate menstrual
cramps. However, if
cramps are severe, a
woman will not feel
like exercising, and
in this situation,
there are several
natural treatments
that may help.
Instructions to
Menstrual Cramps
Eucalyptus oil is a
natural vasodilator
- in other words, it
acts as an
anti-inflammatory
agent. Thus, it
provides natural
pain relief for
menstrual cramps in
the same way that
the above mentioned
anti-inflammatory
drugs work.
Treatment is fast
and simple.
Use our eucalyptus
oil as a liniment.
Apply 3 sprays of
the eucalyptus oil
and massage well for
at least one minute.
Then apply 3 more
sprays and massage
again until oil is
completely absorbed.
In addition to its
healing qualities,
the oil will act as
a lubricant and
enhance the massage
action.
In severe cases, use
a warm herbal pack
on the affected area
after applying the
Australian Oil of
Eucalyptus. We get
great results using
either the belted
lumbar pack or the
jumbo pack.
Additional Tip:
Our herb packs can
be heated up just
the way they are.
However, I recommend
misting them with
some water before
heating. This will
accomplish two
things for you. One,
it will give you
moist heat, which
penetrates better.
Two, it will help
the herbs to stay
fresher longer. Try
our herb packs for
soothing natural
menstrual cramp pain
relief, especially
when used in
conjunction with our
eucalyptus oil!
